1965 Corvette 396 Radiator to Hood Air Dam Seal Repro Of GM
CAVEAT EMPTOR: our quality extruded sponge rubber seal features the correct A shaped profile with a captive upper air cell, plus has the 3 Raised Ribs on the surface. Mounts on top edge of the radiator support to help fill the gap on the new bulging big block hood. Attach to the top of the radiator support with Black w/strip adhesive. Other don't come close & lack these details. They have none & that's why it's not mentioned. psssssst it's a secret.
Technical Service Dept. Information Bulletin dated 7/16/65 says:
"Owners of early (L78) corvettes may experience hood flutter, or in extreme cases, hood rapping on the rad support. .... rapping can be corrected and flutter reduced considerably by cementing a 1_1/2 foot length of rubber seal, part # 3827365 to the top of the rad suport to insulate the points of hood contact. .... an identical fix went into production on vehicles built after serial # S116736."

NOTE: examine the A-shaped profile in this original & the third jpeg showing the Brand Z repro - it does not come close. Other don't come close & fudge these details. They have none & that's why it's not mentioned. psssssst it's a secret.
FACT: We first offered this quality repro over 30 years ago, and today it is still the only accurate detailed one. And it is so visible as soon as the hood is opened. The third jpeg is a NOS sample of this A shaped rubber extrusion.
