*** this is another part zip copied from DocRebuild for their AC heater box kit - how does anyone know - because GM never ever made a part anything like this. It was designed by DocRebuild to improve the efficiency of the AC Cool Air flow.
the BACK STORY
pssssst ... To improve air flow to the Y duct & the defroster & prevent it from escaping behind the dash DocRebuild created this polyfoam seal to close the gaps between the heater core box junction with the distributor duct. The latter control defrost mode & also send air to the lower Y duct near your feet. I repeat - this part was not developed by GM. Remarkably after selling these parts to zip, they began offering the same part used in the same location. Even more remarkable that Justin Abbott the lap dog at zip boldly proclaims that zip has independently developed these parts & did not copy them from DocRebuild. Yeeeeaah... Hogwash. Justin Abbott was in junior high school when we first supplied this part & his boss fed him this line of bull poop. He is not a very good liar. I guess that's why his title is VP of Product Development. Yeeeeaah... Hogwash.
