1953-1962 Corvette Cowl Vent One Piece Sponge Rubber Seal Repro Of GM 3706914
CAVEAT EMPTOR: fact - DocRebuild made the very first reproduction of this part - in Bridgeport, CT USA. We were prompted to do this because the GM dealer over the counter service part was 2 pieces glued together and then stuffed wrinkled and deformed into a 6x10 paper bag. It was junk before you could install it - it never would lay flat & fit properly. Most all other types of GM service parts were excellent.
We die cut this part in one piece like that used in St Louis Corvette assembly plant.
Shortly thereafter our actual repro cowl vent seal was copied by just about every Dick, dave, Danny and Harry. :) But nobody beats our price.

FACT: I designed the die for this part because I did not have the GM blueprint, and my goal was to produce a better part that GM was selling at the Chevy store parts counter in the 1970's. See the section of cowl in the 2nd photo above we used for our pattern.
